We would like to present our first client spotlight on Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE).

Many industry professionals don’t realize that carpet can be recycled for a variety of products and uses. Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the landfill diversion, reuse, and recycling of waste carpet through market-based solutions that benefit the economy as well as the environment. CARE works to  develop markets for recycled post-consumer carpet via grants, technical assistance and promotion assistance.

Post-consumer carpet is recycled by processors into fibers or plastic pellets, which can be used to make a broad range of products, including insulation, wood substitute, carpet tiles, underlayment and other products for the automotive, transportation and construction industries.

On the Ecomedes page for CARE you can browse by product category and company and also search based on third-party standards and ecolabels such as Green Label Plus and UL GREENGUARD. Products ranging from acoustic insulation to ADA ramps, from sport flooring to safety cones, all containing post-consumer carpet material, contribute to your project’s sustainability.

We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to be partners with CARE. To see the variety of sustainable products that contain recycled carpet material, please visit https://care.ecomedes.com/.
