Announcing Advanced Support for Well 2.0

Do your building materials support the requirements of WELL’s new v2 criteria?

Let ecomedes answer that for you!

The International Well Building Institute (IWBI) has released a Version 2 of the Well Building Standard with a scorecard that help builders meet an improved set of guidelines for healthier buildings based on the dimensions of Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community.

Backed by the latest scientific research, WELL v2 includes strategies that aim to advance health by setting performance standards for design interventions, operational protocols and policies and a commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellness. Built on the pioneering foundation of the first version of the WELL Building Standard (WELL v1), WELL v2 draws expertise from thousands of WELL users, practitioners, medical professionals, public health experts and building scientists around the world.

Thanks to the latest advances to ecomedes’ product catalog algorithms, it is now possible to learn whether sustainable building products meet the new WELL 2.0 guidelines. By mapping the WELL v2 criteria to the extensive product data in ecomedes, there are now 87,860 products that have been identified as contributing to at least one of 5 dimensions of v2 - being air, light, movement, materials, and community - and all their subcategories. Ensuring correct application of numerous features associated with each of these dimensions is a complex challenge; this article from WELL offers a look into some of the difference between V1 and the V2 pilot.

The mapping of contribution to WELL 1.0 for 98,836 products is still retrievable from the catalog, as well. Complete product documentation for WELL v2 certification submission, along with 50 variations from 3 other major rating systems, is now an easy one-click step.

At ecomedes, our data analysts are dedicated to staying as up-to-date as possible with the evolution in building standards and the data that is needed to measure against those standards. That’s why we’re the #1 go-to source for sustainable building product guidance for major owners and builders, and the growing standard for digital presentation of sustainable product data for global manufacturers.
